  1. Oklahoma is a center of manufacturing, mineral and energy exploration,
  2. printing and publishing.  Agriculture is key, with wheat, cotton, grain,
  3. corn, peanuts, hay and barley leading the way.  Oklahoma was part of the
  4. Louisiana Purchase in 1803 and was known as indian territory.  It became
  5. the home for five Indian nations, including the Cherokee, Choctaw,
  6. Chickasaw, Creek and Seminole.  As whites moved west, the area was opened
  7. to homesteading and soon agriculture and ranching followed.  Oklahoma
  8. became the 46th state on November 16, 1907.                   @
